I feel absolutely passionate about the arts and it’s endless ability to provide a fertile ground for life-long learning! The strength of art programs lies in the ability to instill studio habits of the mind; curiosity, observation, envisioning and innovation through exploration, expression, persistence, and reflective self-evaluation. These mindful skills are crucial to develop in our youth as well as in humanity. As an art mentor I bring a wealth of expertise and exposure to a variety of artists, cultures, art forms and technical applications. I challenge my students to do their best in any given activity, to increase their confidence, to live bold and learn from their mistakes and to be authentic. My art programs are meant to be FUN while RIGOROUS! For the past 25 years I have brought successful art programing to art schools, museum extension programs, a variety of community organizations as well as within a school classroom setting and within my art studio. I have had many students graduate from Art Schools or University’s who acknowledge their success to their experience’s in my arts programs. I value the long-term relationships I build with my students and with organizations. In large, I view art as the study and practice of relationship(s)- the ability to learn from diversity and to inspire balance. Creativity through art is the ability to perceive infinite possibilities, to have a wide range of material knowledge, and to chose the best form for the intended investigation. The future of our world greatly depends on how well we empower our youth through creativity- through the arts!
